On March 30th, 2025, the city of Bamenda buzzed with excitement and innovation as the Women in Engineering Cameroon (WEC) hosted an Award Ceremony for the Most Innovative Community-Based STEM Solutions at the prestigious Bamenda Regional Assembly Conference Hall.
Among the bright minds in attendance, Jumpstart Academy Africa’s Tech4Weekend scholars stood out—not only for their innovation but also for their bold vision for change.
Two Projects, One Goal: Community Transformation
Jumpstart Academy Africa proudly submitted two remarkable projects developed by young scholars from its Tech4Weekend program:
🏆 3rd Place Winner
• 🧪 Aqua Engineers – A smart water management and monitoring system, developed by Dama Favour and Ngamake Precious.

• 🌱 Organic Roots – A sustainable solution focused on transforming organic waste into manure, by Lontchi Leticia and Fongang Carine.

These projects were born out of real-life challenges faced by communities and reflect the passion, curiosity, and resilience of youth empowered by accessible, hands-on STEM education.
